Penny`s Pit in Ratddrum

The beef is local, I mean really local, I'm pretty sure they could tell you the name of the cow if you asked. It's also delicious and the burgers have fun names. I just wish it was bigger!

Great burgers and I had the john wayne prices are affordable was treated to a little fella named mister john for some dance entertainment had some cool moves for a 3 yr old highly recommend.

I have been to this place a couple of times now. They have awesome burgers. The place is what I would call cozy (small). It is fine if your group is 4 or less. Any larger and things get a bit complicated.The staff is as awesome as the burgers. I had the Blue onion Burger both times I have been there. The first time it was spot on, unfortunately on the next visit the crumbles of blue cheese were overpowering. The fries are the best. I don't recall the name but we had the fries with bacon and cheese. They were fantastic.

In my opinion one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. We really can’t get enough of penny’s pit! Sometimes we’ll even go just to get the fries because the fries are to die for as well. The fry sauce is different but in a good way! Definitely make sure to try Penny’s if you’re in town!*update 01/24/19Went in to penny’s yet again tonight and this time around only reaffirmed our original conclusion. The best burger we’ve ever had. The fries are amazing and the sweet potato fries are so good that we had regular fries with our burgers and ordered a side of sweet potato fries.

Service is very friendly. Their unique (huge) burgers are tasty as are the generous portions of fries and onion rings. Definitely will be returning to try out their other burgers.

I had never heard of this restaurant until our friend's took us here. The food was great huge burgers that super tasty. 5/5 I will recommend to friends who want a great burger!

To be honest, I've never been there. I am giving you 5 stars for defending your employees and calling out those 1 star losers on their behavior! The rest of the reviews sound great, and I will definitely be making the drive from Spokane one day soon!

I love Penny's Pit and would recommend you try it for yourself. I would give 5 stars but our waitress was horrible. I ordered sweet potato fries with my burger, the waitress noticed i had regular fries as she set my plate on the table. She said "my bad" and walked off with no offer to bring the correct fries. I asked for ketchup and she says "i guess" we each got 1 napkin and i of course blew mine up with the first bite. Asked for more napkins and she brought us one more...

Very, very good food. I had the Umami Mushroom Burger and it was very tasty, their garlic parmesan fries are to die for too!!! Wish we had one of these in Caliornia! Try their fried Oreos, OMGOODNESS!! SOOO YUMMY

Small little hole in the wall restaurant. What they lack in space they make up in flavor for sure. They offer a variety of import domestic and craft beers. Coke products and a front and back menu of different burgers. The restaurant is themed around Elvis and Marilyn the walls are decorated with vintage vinyl records and pictures of the times. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the pressly burger which was a beef patty complemented quite exquisitely with a mix of sauteed mushrooms and garlic. It also had the perfect hint of smoke flavor. All and all the whole dining experience was enjoyable one that will be enjoyed again in the future and recommended to others in the meantime.

The pastrami burger is good.... without the pastrami. The pastrami was SO tough, we had to take it off of the burger. We will definitely try Penny's again tho because the burger was really good!!

Great little “hidden” burger shop. This had a nice menu that wasn’t overwhelmingly long or complicated. Although the names of the burgers were weird and did t give a clue as to what was in them you had to read the full description to understand what you were ordering. Our favorite thing is the French fries. They were acidly and delicious. This is a locals favorite for Rathdrum!

I’m sorry people around here are so hurtful and are behaving like children because of this pandemic and having to wear a mask. It’s really embarrassing. I commend you for sticking up for your employees and doing the right thing trying to keep everyone safe. 👍👍❤️❤️❤️

Very good, had the special of the day, the Brando. Light jalapenos real tasty. Took a box home.Frys were crisp and obviously cooked in clean oil.

Service was amazing. They were absolutely slammed when we pulled up, it was about an hour till close. We ordered to go because they were so packed and waited on the benches. Once they had an available table they asked if we wanted to take it. The server thanked us many times for our patience, as well as the cook coming out and thanking us. If I could rate this more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely will return.

This is an easy 5 star fancy burger joint. The great service starts with a greeting as soon as you step in, the burger is simply spectacular, I had the mushroom topped one. The patty wasn't machine stamped out so it was easy to bite into, the mushrooms were generous, it was done on a grill, the bun nicely toasted.

Server was great! I had the john Wayne burger and it was delicious. My second time there since I moved up here and my boyfriends first time. We will definitely be returning customers. ❤

My family and I used to enjoy eating here! The owners are nice, the food is incredible, but boy do they have a horrible server... she’s very arrogant, shows no empathy and it seems like the establishment has unfortunately enabled her to act superior to others. She gossips like crazy with inflated judgments of her own accomplishments and underestimation/devaluation of the contribution of others, fishing for compliments every chance she got. We would love to return to this establishment but we won’t support that kind of behavior.

Sriracha burger was packed with heat and incredible flavor. We finished off with red velvet oreo cupcakes dipped in cream cheese frosting. Yummy

This is a great local place to eat! Their food is amazing. The staff is extraordinary and the owners are some of the nicest, hardworking people you will ever meet! If you haven’t experienced Penny’s yet, you are missing out! My husband wants to try every burger in the menu and loves the fries!!!

I travel the US a lot, and love a good burger. After going here on two different trips, m prepared to call it the best burger joint I've ever been to! They we're totally down with helping us stick to a "keto" diet this time. Customized an amazing burger with no bun and traded the fries for a side salad. Love this place!

The burgers here are PACKED with flavor! Perfect amount of seasoning and thickness. I didnt need the sweet potato fries but I'm glad I ordered them because my gosh they were delicious! I've had the same server both times I've been in and she is very sweet, also will make a joke with you, which is important in that profession! Great job, hopefully you guys can expand someday and have more space because your food is great!

I've always wanted to try Penny's Pit but have not made it there yet. I love how they stand behind their employees though. After reading the article in the news I was glad to hear that they are standing their ground when it comes to horribly rude customers. It has really gotten out of control lately and I hope more businesses take this position. This type of behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. No employee should have to deal with this every day at work. I will definitely be stopping in soon to support them!

Always been our favorite burger joint. Im on a keto diet now so i got the salad and i tell you what best salad ive had too! The service is always great as well. Thank you so much for never disappointing! ❤

The Riveter was an amazing Burger, I could only finish half. The staff was very peasant and welcoming.

This place was good the first time not Great.Decided on going to try again and wow, the waitress mixed my burger with guy next to me.so I asked how long it would be to make another she said 7 minutes do you want it,I said yes.she run to the cook and said he leaving...where did that come from?cook comes out and refused to make my burger,heavy set latina..anyway she came out and said we did have to pay for our first burger and wasn't making mine cause I was extremely rude? I can't wait for the better business Bureau to hear.

The Pastrami and the Ricardo are the burgers we tried on our very first visit. We were not disappointed by any means! The fries? O. M. G.! Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place ~ the best wait staff in the area! I'm definitely recommending Penny's Pit and will make this my "date night" destination weekly!

Absolute delight! I stumbled on this place by accident when I stopped to get gas. Hip gourmet burger shop with a Rat Pack theme. They have a wide selection of custom burgers. I had the Sinatra. It was divine! They also have beers and cider on tap. The fries were tasty too. Be sure to ask for Zach!

The burgers here are amazing. Really tough to notice from the road but attached to to big gas station. We all ordered different burgers and fry combinations. They were all excellent in their own way. Meant to give five stars and edited it later. Hopefully they change it because the food was awesome.

Great experience. Food was excellent. We came here because we saw the many positive reviews and we were not disappointed. I had the beef brisket burrito and it was amazing. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back.

the food is good if you dont mind a long wait time and an untrained staff. my fiance order came out wrong after waiting 30 min for 2 burgers. we asked how long it would take to make the food or we could just go somewhere else. the waitress said 7 min so we said thats fine. then cook came out and stated we were extremely rude and that she wasnt making anymore food. I told her to look at her cameras we were not being rude. fact is you took 30 min to make 2 burgers (only one order in front of us, and he got the wrong food too). there was only 4 people in restaurant including us. the waitress said she normally doesnt do this and they were extremely busy..... I have worked customer service for many years, you dont treat people like that. wont be back 6/23/2020

Seriously the best burgers around. Willing to travel 30 minutes to eat here. 10/10 would recommend!!
